As December unfolds, the busyness of the holiday season is in full swing at our house. Between Christmas preparations, exciting milestones, and everyday life, there’s a lot to share about what’s been going on with the Montana Knaptons.
Everlee’s Exciting Adventures
Everlee is absolutely buzzing with excitement about her upcoming school Christmas program. She’s been practicing her songs every chance she gets, and her enthusiasm is infectious. It’s such a joy to see her growing confidence as she prepares for her big performance.
In addition to her Christmas program, Everlee recently joined a Christian cheerleading program and had her first practice. She came home beaming with pride and stories about her new friends and all the fun she had. Watching her find activities that bring her joy and help her grow is such a blessing.
Andy’s Growing Independence
Our little Andy is hitting some major milestones of his own! He’s been saying new words like “look,” “good,” “hi,” “Mama,” “Dada,” “Gamma,” and “Gampa.” It’s incredible to see him learning to communicate and express himself more every day.
Andy has also become Everlee’s unofficial escort to class, walking her in like the proud little brother he is. On top of that, he’s made the leap to eating more “big people food” and is loving the new flavors and textures. Watching him grow and discover the world around him is such a special part of this season.
DJ’s Well-Deserved Breaks
DJ continues to work tirelessly to provide for our family, and I couldn’t be more grateful for his dedication. Amid his busy schedule, he’s been able to carve out a little time for himself each week to play cards (or what I lovingly call “nerd games”) with his buddy at the local card game store. It’s great to see him enjoying some much-needed relaxation and fellowship.
My Struggle and Joy in the Chaos
As for me, I’d be lying if I said the holiday season hasn’t been overwhelming. Between decorating, shopping, meal planning, and preparing for all the Christmas activities, my to-do list feels endless. It’s easy to get caught up in the stress of trying to make everything perfect, and I’ve definitely felt the weight of it all.
But amidst the chaos, I’m learning to lean on what truly matters. Spending quiet moments in prayer, reflecting on the gift of Jesus, and asking for His guidance has been my anchor. I’ve also started taking a step back when I feel overwhelmed, focusing on gratitude for the family and blessings we’ve been given.
Finding Peace in the Season
This Christmas, I’m reminded that the holiday doesn’t have to be picture-perfect to be meaningful. It’s about celebrating the birth of Jesus and cherishing the love and connections we share. By prioritizing what truly matters and giving myself grace, I’m finding peace and joy even in the busiest moments.
From our family to yours, I hope you’re finding ways to embrace the beauty of this season—whether it’s through your children’s milestones, moments of connection, or quiet reflection. May this Christmas be filled with love, joy, and the hope that only Jesus can bring.
Always with love,
The Knaptons
